About David (he/his)

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #76172) who has provided for the mental health needs of Los Angeles’s diverse communities for over a decade. I received my master’s in social welfare in 2012 from UCLA, where I was taught from a generalist framework and trained in public mental health and psychotherapy. In the course of my clinical work, I have provided both short and long-term psychotherapy as well as crisis services to adults living with a wide range of mental health challenges.

My Approach

The work to change and grow can be hard, but it is well worth it. I believe that the fruits of wellness and recovery done earnestly are plentiful: love, joy, peace, self-determination, self-empowerment, growth, change, to name a few. In my work, I view the whole person - mind, body, and spirit - and tailor my interventions that draw on strengths to meet the unique needs of each person. I provide a safe space free of judgment to work through issues together, a space where you feel understood and know that you are heard.

Our work may include some, if not all, of the following: clarifying and changing our thoughts to achieve a different, more effective outcome;  experiencing something new that promotes change and healing; learning new ways to cope that empower; reflecting on the past to understand the present and make a way for the future; acquiring new insights, ideas, and mindsets to be our very best.

Clinical Focuses

I work with adults facing the issues listed below:

  • Anger

  • Anxiety

  • Bipolar Disorder

  • Depression

  • Drug and Alcohol Abuse

  • Grief and Loss

  • Other addictions such as gambling

There is no one-size fits-all approach to therapy. The evidence-based practices and interventions I use will depend on your specific needs and goals. I am trained in the following evidence-based practices: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy;  Seeking Safety; Anger Management.

Be well and go after what you want.
